YouTube App Removed in iOS 6 Beta 4

Earlier today Apple released iOS 6 Beta 4 to it’s iOS Developers. Instantly it came to our attentions that the YouTube App, which had been in iOS since V1 2007, had been removed from the OS. We then later learnt that Apple’s license for YouTube had indeed run out.

We don’t really know what to make of this and it is certainly a shame to all us Developers who won’t have a Official YouTube App for some months. However, the fact the YouTube App has been removed has sparked some interesting development. Apparently Google are making there own YouTube App for iOS, this could be a Good thing or a Very Bad thing. When Google put effort into their iOS Apps they do a very good job, such is with the Google Chrome App. However, sometimes when Google don’t give their iOS Apps the full attention required we, the end user, end up with something which is useless and glitchy such is with the Google Drive App.

Hopefully we will se a YouTube App from Google with a stunning User Interface and fantastic User Experience like which we have seen in Chrome.

Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the App Store. – Apple

We are working with Apple to ensure we have the best possible YouTube experience for iOS users – A YouTube Rep.

Apple Interested in The ‘Fancy’?

Business Insider has heard that Apple is presently in talks to acquire the social sharing and commerce site The Fancy.

The Fancy is described as a rival to the ever growing Pinterest site which is used to share photos of items found online known as Pins.

The Fancy’s biggest advantage over its rival appears to be the ability for users to purchase items directly from the site. Both allow users to “pin” or “fancy” products found on the internet and allow other users to browse these items in various collections.
